Binalong Brae

Bay of Fires Seachange now has a little sister! We have opened a new pet friendly property just around the corner called Binalong Brae. This property has had a total makeover from its typical holiday shack beginnings to a contemporary space for two couples or a family to enjoy. It was totally gutted, and refinished with new modern bathrooms, new kitchen, flooring, double glazed sliding doors – everything! But, because Bay of Fires Seachange is so popular with dog lovers, we have also made it pet friendly, so the furry member of your family is able to enjoy a holiday with you as well.

Featuring two bedrooms, both with en-suite bathrooms, and a spacious open plan living/dining/kitchen it is ideal for two couples. One bedroom features a king bed, and sliding doors out onto a huge deck. The other has a queen bed. The living room has two huge sliding doors opening it up to the enormous deck. From all rooms there are views to the North up the Bay of Fires.

The property has a name which is both a pun on the ex-owners (Breys), and the fact that it sits on one of the highest parts of Binalong Bay – Brae being Scottish for Hill. Living Room

We were lucky enough to find a lovely big couch which is just ideal for everyone to be able to sit and socialise, or just sprawl out and watch a movie. Check out the photos and see what you think.

Lichen Restaurant and Cafe

Bay of Fires Seachange is excited to inform our guests that Lichen Restaurant and Cafe is now open in Binalong Bay. Situated at 66 Main Road Binalong Bay it is just a ten minute walk from Seachange. The new manager/owners Glen and Jacquie have fully renovated and tastefully decorated the building, giving it a wonderful ambience. They have even put in a wood fired pizza oven for those casual days.

The head chef, Paul Brown, is well known and we can vouch that his food is amazing! Can’t wait to go down for dinner when we get a chance. Have already enjoyed a breakfast and lunch there, (and they have only been open a week!) Once they have finished tweaking their menu I will put it here so you can see what is available. I would recommend that you book:

Devil of a Deal

It’s whale season, but for some reason we decided not to have a Whale of a Sale,

As the whales have been frolicking in the beautiful Bay of Fires over the last week, what better time for guests to come and stay a while so they give themselves plenty of opportunities to get out and see the wildlife in our area. So now you will have time to take one of the new BAY OF FIRES ECO TOURS boat trips. All you need to do is get in touch with BAY OF FIRES ECO TOURS via their website, or phone them on 0499 209 756 and book a tour to see the beautiful coastline of the Bay of Fires from the comfort of a purpose built boat. You can take a 2.5 hour tour covering 28kms of pristine coastline, the history and natural beauty will be highlighted by the friendly tour guides as you head north past the Bay of Fires Conservation Area to Mount William National Park and the lighthouse reserve at Eddystone Point. The return journey takes you further offshore for a new adventure! Perhaps you can even capture a super photo of the friendly dolphins like the one above.

They also do two shorter trips, one heads south from Binalong Bay via Elephant Rock, Dora Point and past the entrance to Georges Bay. It passes the vast rolling sands of Peron Dunes then to ST HELENS ISLAND, where you can see the resident seal colony. Lots of birdlife also frequent the island. The other tour heads north up to THE GARDENS and takes about an hour and a half, and you can see the famous red rocks that the Bay of Fires is renowned for.

So – you have no excuse not to enjoy a new experience – our free night stay will cover the cost of your trip!
